Wearing Our Uniform with Pride at St Ambrose’s School
At St Ambrose’s School, we believe our uniform is much more than clothing – it is a visible sign of belonging, identity, and respect. The uniform is designed to be practical, comfortable, and a strong symbol of our community spirit.
There are both formal and sports uniform requirements; however, with the right purchase of formal shorts and black shoes, it is possible that the only change required between formal and sports is a shirt. This makes the uniform simple, versatile, and easy for families to manage.
In addition to uniforms, presentation and grooming is an important part of our policy. We encourage students to wear their uniform neatly and tidily at all times. Hair that touches the collar must be tied back, natural colours maintained, and extreme hairstyles avoided. Jewellery is limited to small studs or sleepers, a religious necklace, a medical bracelet, or a watch. Makeup and nail polish are not part of our school expectations. These standards support students to focus on their learning, while also helping them to understand the value of self-respect, discipline, and care for their appearance.
By wearing the St Ambrose’s uniform with pride, our students show they are ready to learn, ready to belong, and ready to contribute to a respectful and caring school community.
