We are standing on Turrbal ground.
Look up, look down and hear the sounds,
Gifts of creation all around.
See the creek, the fish and bee
Smell the salt, the fire and tree.
We listen and learn with deep respect.
Elder, Culture, history – we won’t forget.
Sisters and brothers - we walk as one.
Our journey of hope has just begun.

This symbol tells the story of students being surrounded by adults and peers as they build a community of Welcome. The colours represent our school colours.

Component 1 - St Ambrose’s School is located on the straight stretch of Enoggera Creek. This area is called Biliba (Shin bone). The Wunya Wunya (Welcome, welcome) symbol represents our school’s position in this area. Yauar-ngari (Enoggera) meaning “song and dance".

Component 2 - Barrambin (Victoria Park) was known as a gathering space for First Nations Peoples.
|
|
Component 3 - Yawagara (Breakfast Creek) was an important fishing site and possible area where Corroborees were held.
|
|
Component 4 - Kuta (Mt Coot-tha) was a place of wild or black honey from native bees. St Ambrose of Milan, is the Patron Saint of Bees and Beekeepers.
