At St Ambrose's there is a wealth
that is beyond measure.

At St Ambrose's School the community of teachers, parents and other children work together to instil a sense of pride and strong community within the children.

The Staff is a team which, at its core, has a passion for and a commitment to ensuring that the children’s daily experience of school is not only quality teaching and learning but one that gives life; living and celebrating by example the heart of gospel values.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school to ensure the children come to appreciate and understand by example, the value of community.

The children of St. Ambrose's  are the 'gems'  who remind us of all that is good and precious in life.

We are a Catholic Primary School that educates 294 children from Prep to Year 6. We have 201 families contributing to our school community. As a school, we aim to provide the children with a variety of skills that allow them to become self-directed life-long learners.

Community News

We are very excited that the Bolton Centre will again become a polling booth for this year’s Federal Election. We will be putting on a BBQ, drinks and cake stall which will be a great opportunity to welcome the local community and hopefully raise some funds for the school. Make sure you tell your neighbours to come and Vote at St Ambrose’s.

This Term Prep B have been very busy involving themselves in a whole lot of learning! The holidays are upon us and everyone will be needing a well-deserved break. The highlight of Term 2 has been getting together with Prep A on Tuesdays and Thursdays for our joint Literacy Rotations. During these sessions we have been focussing on alphabet sequencing, letter formation, the common sounds that letters make, long vowel sounds, writing sentences, reading Jolly Readers and learning the concepts of print and writing words. It has been fantastic to learn alongside Prep A as it has allowed us to form many friendships.

In Maths we started off the term focussing on patterning and creating our own patterns. We then moved on to discovering 3D shapes inside and outside the classroom. Over the last couple of weeks we have been engaging ourselves in some hands on activities – investigating the concepts of mass, volume and capacity.

Gardening with Mr. Scheer has been especially exciting this term. Mr. Scheer has taught us how to make clay, different ways to plant seeds and flowers, how different types of weather affect different plants and how to ensure the fairies from the Fairy Garden are provided with the best living conditions! We cannot wait to transform the Fairy Garden next term into a Succulent Fairy Forest!

We have been reading stories about the ‘olden days’ and discovering how these stories can help us learn about our grandparents and great grandparents’ past. It has been fun searching our street addresses on Google to find out where we live and what our streets looks like. Mrs. Davidson has been teaching us so many different techniques in P.E. which has improved our running, jumping, catching, balancing, throwing and listening and team work skills. We have also been focussing on ways in which we can keep ourselves and each other healthy and safe.

Under 8’s Day was so much fun. On behalf of the students from Prep to Year 2, we thank all of the teachers who took the time and made the effort to organise such a great day!

We are looking forward to another fantastic semester.
