At St Ambrose's School the community of teachers, parents and other children work together to instil a sense of pride and strong community within the children.
The Staff is a team which, at its core, has a passion for and a commitment to ensuring that the children’s daily experience of school is not only quality teaching and learning but one that gives life; living and celebrating by example the heart of gospel values.
Parents are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school to ensure the children come to appreciate and understand by example, the value of community.
The children of St. Ambrose's are the 'gems' who remind us of all that is good and precious in life.
We are a Catholic Primary School that educates 294 children from Prep to Year 7. We have 201 families contributing to our school community.
As a school, we aim to provide the children with a variety of skills that allow them to become self-directed life-long learners.

necklace. Mummy said thank you.

WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY
Friday 18th May is National Walk to School Day. Each year, St Ambrose's School celebrate Walk Safely to School Day. This is a national event when
all primary school children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It aims to
encourage parents and children to walk and talk about the many aspects of being active to school. These include the importance of road safety, being active and healthy, becoming more familiar with
public transport and taking better care of our environment by reducing air pollution and traffic
congestion.
Crazy shoes and socks are encouraged for this fun day. The Community Group
will be on duty to hand out an extra sticker for a Friday and there will be judging of the best male and
female 'crazy shoe and sock'. Prizes will be awarded at assembly the following week. (Shoes must
be closed in. Grade 3 to Grade 7 will need to bring their school shoes in their bag to be able to
participate in Gala Sport).
This will also be a gold coin donation day with the money raised going towards the East African
Mission Orphanage (EAMO). You may remember our visitors to the school last August. Ralph and
May Spinks, along with their adopted Kenyan daughter Jasmine, came up and talked to the children
about their home in Nakuru, Kenya. While here in Australia they visited the education shops and
learning posters were identified as an item that is very difficult to source in Kenya. We have a
collection of posters to send and the money collected will be used to pay the postage of these
learning aids to the school at the orphanage.
This is a link to the latest youtube from the Orphanage if you would like more information.
SCHOOLZINE
We are transferring over to the SCHOOLZINE newsletter on June 21. From this moment the newsletter will
be circulated through this link and come out every fortnight.
All teachers now have an ipod to take photos and video streams to use in the Newsletter. At the next P&F
meeting Lisa Lum will outline what Schoolzine is and all the connecting factors. Mark this in your diary as
the Schoolzine has wonderful capacities that we as a school can utilize.
