At St Ambrose's there is a wealth
that is beyond measure.

At St Ambrose's School the community of teachers, parents and other children work together to instil a sense of pride and strong community within the children.

The Staff is a team which, at its core, has a passion for and a commitment to ensuring that the children’s daily experience of school is not only quality teaching and learning but one that gives life; living and celebrating by example the heart of gospel values.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school to ensure the children come to appreciate and understand by example, the value of community.

The children of St. Ambrose's  are the 'gems'  who remind us of all that is good and precious in life.

We are a Catholic Primary School that educates 294 children from Prep to Year 6. We have 201 families contributing to our school community. As a school, we aim to provide the children with a variety of skills that allow them to become self-directed life-long learners.

LET’S CHAT – Sessions about Relationships and Sexuality
Let’s Chat Education offers a range of programs and workshops that encourage conversations about puberty. St Ambrose’s are offering two family education workshops that will provide families the opportunity to chat about puberty and changing bodies. For some families this may be the first opportunity to chat, for others one of many. Either way we believe the opportunity to have these conversations in a positive and empowering environment is vital to promote communication and enhance sense of self and wellbeing in young people.

Please see the newsletter for details of what is covered in the workshops. These are being presented by Mandy Stephens from Let’s Chat Education. For more information, you may like to go to Mandy’s Website:

Students from our school have recently undertaken an education tour of the National Capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the National Capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $60 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate Program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

Want to give back to the community?
Well you can, by being a part of the P&F Committee in 2017.

We all love St Ambrose’s great sense of community! This does not happen by accident. An enthusiastic, innovative P&F Committee is key to making St Ambrose’s a great place to be. Some of our dedicated, amazing and successful committee members are stepping down next year after stellar contributions in their roles over the past few years. We need a new generation of committee members to take the school forward to meet the challenges of the future and make St Ambrose’s a place where our kids will continue to thrive.

Contributing to the St Ambrose’s P&F Committee is very rewarding, and being a small school, very manageable. Please think about how you can contribute in 2017 and let us know ASAP. All incumbents will be at St Ambrose’s in 2017 to assist you when you need help. You can make the roles as big or as small as you like. We look forward to hearing from you! You can always find out more about the role by talking the current holder of the position listed below:

  • President - Vanessa Nielsen
  • Vice President - Andrew Deane
  • Events & Fundraising (2x) - Sam Venturato & Peta Kelly Powell

Thanks to all other committee members continuing in 2017
