At St Ambrose's School the community of teachers, parents and other children work together to instil a sense of pride and strong community within the children.
The Staff is a team which, at its core, has a passion for and a commitment to ensuring that the children’s daily experience of school is not only quality teaching and learning but one that gives life; living and celebrating by example the heart of gospel values.
Parents are encouraged to be involved in the life of the school to ensure the children come to appreciate and understand by example, the value of community.
The children of St. Ambrose's are the 'gems' who remind us of all that is good and precious in life.
We are a Catholic Primary School that educates 294 children from Prep to Year 6. We have 201 families contributing to our school community.
As a school, we aim to provide the children with a variety of skills that allow them to become self-directed life-long learners.

OUR NEW PRINCIPAL FOR 2017
A recruitment, selection and appointment process for the subsequent vacancy for the Principal positon at St Ambrose’s has commenced. Early in August Staff and Parents will be consulted about their vision for our school into the future as well as what strengths they would identify as being important for the principal at St Ambrose’s to possess. Our Area Supervisor with make contact with the school to organise suitable times for the consultation process.
Catholic Education Week will be celebrated across Queensland from 24 - 30 July this year. This annual event is held to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools every day.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is: Opening Doors in the Year of Mercy.Catholic Education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider community by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society.
We will begin this event with a short Liturgy led by our St Ambrose’s Pastoral Group at Monday’s Assembly. They will also begin a fundraising event to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal.
PAINTING OF SCHOOL
Stephen Long, who is a parent, began re-painting the whole school externally last year. Stage 1 was the Administration Building; this year will see Stage 2 begin, which is the Prep, Year 1, Library and Toilet areas. Stephen will endeavour to begin during Term 3.
Stage 3 is upstairs and downstairs of the 2 story block and Stage 4 is the Undercroft, Tuckshop and all classrooms above this area. Each year we paint the next stage until the painting is complete. Once the external painting has been completed we will begin internally.
